I created this 4-eyed bat as a creature that is both a little quirky, a little unsettling – and at the same time full of personality. The four eyes give it a special presence, as if it sees more than the immediate, and invites both curiosity and imagination.

I worked with the large nose and prominent ears to give it an almost humorous expression, while the surface is raw and vibrant. I like the contrast between the somewhat grotesque and the somewhat charming – that's where the figure starts to come alive for me.

The bat is handmade primarily from recycled materials. For me, it's about giving materials a new story and creating something unique from something that has lived before. Therefore, every single figure will also have its own expression – no two will be exactly alike.

It serves as an unusual eye-catcher on the wall – a small creature that almost feels like it's looking back.
